The swim season runs mid-May through October with sun-bed and umbrella rental at around eight to twelve euros for a set; the beach bars stay open through the same season with cocktails, grilled food and music from midday.

The bay faces south-east across the inner Bay of Kotor, keeping the water calm, clear and notably warm from June through September. Plavi Horizonti is the main family beach for Tivat and draws a mix of locals and visitors in July and August; quieter mornings from June and after mid-August make it possible to swim with more space.
