The village character is older and quieter than the centre, with stone houses ribboning along the waterfront, a small fishing-boat quay, a Catholic church and a strip of family-run restaurants and konobas built out over the water.
The waterfront promenade extends from the centre through Donja Lastva and onward toward Lepetane, drawing residents and visitors for the evening passeggiata in summer. Accommodation in the village leans toward longer-stay apartments and small family-run guesthouses rather than the larger hotels of the centre. The pace stays slow even in peak season, drawing visitors who want a quieter base within ten minutes' walk of the centre.
