The quarter is a mix of family houses on smaller plots, mid-rise apartment buildings built across the past two decades, and a strip of small-industry premises along the inland edge. The pace is residential, with most footfall on the routes between housing and the local cafes and shops.
The quarter is not on most visitor itineraries. Accommodation is mostly longer-stay apartments and a handful of family-run guesthouses, drawing residents working in the centre or at the airport, plus the occasional traveller looking for a less-touristed base within walking distance of both Pine Park and the Donja Lastva waterfront. Local activity centres on the small parade of cafes and supermarkets along the main road and the daily commute pattern between the Centre and the airport area.
